Families United Network Celebrates Successful Completion of Joint Solar Project
Families United Network, together with Solar Renewable Energy (SRE) and Greenworks Development, proudly announced the successful completion of their joint solar energy project. The project, which spanned four months and involved the meticulous clearance of lots by local contractors, marks a significant achievement in sustainability and community development.
James Ross, the project chair, and the visionary behind this initiative, emphasized the long-term benefits: “With reduced power demand, the money saved can be funneled into more impactful projects, enhancing our overall mission.”
Ron Simon, CEO of Families United Network, expressed his enthusiasm: “By reducing expenses, we will have more money to put into our programs for children and their families.”
The “Flip the Switch” event, held on Wednesday, May 29th, at the Muncy Campus, celebrated the inauguration of the new solar panels. This endeavor promises to significantly reduce the organization’s electrical expenses and allow any excess energy generated to be sold back to the power grid, providing additional benefits to the wider community.
The event featured notable speakers, including Mark Mussina, County Commissioner of Lycoming County; Derek Slaughter, Mayor of Williamsport; Dr. Nate Woods, Jr., Special Assistant to the President for Inclusion Transformation at the Pennsylvania College of Technology, Seth Berry, Manager at Solar Renewable Energy, LLC, James Ross, Board Chairman of Ashler, Inc., and Ron Simon, CEO of Families United Network.
Families United Network extends heartfelt gratitude to Journey Bank for their sponsorship and to all who joined this momentous occasion as they continue to pave the way towards sustainability and enriched community support.
