Kingston, PA – [November 21, 2025]
Families United Network has announced the launch of Peer Help United Network (PHUN), a new organization dedicated to providing accessible behavioral health services in Luzerne and Wyoming Counties. A ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house was held on Thursday, November 13th, at the new facility located at 311 Market Street in Kingston, PA, to celebrate its opening.
What is PHUN?
PHUN was established to address the community’s need for compassionate, experience-based support for individuals and caregivers of children navigating emotional and mental health challenges. As Pennsylvania’s first family and peer-run organization, its mission is to leverage the power of shared life experiences to foster a supportive network. The open house provided an opportunity for community members to learn about the new services and meet the team.
Event Speakers
The event featured several speakers who highlighted the importance of peer-led support in behavioral health. Speakers included Ron Simon, CEO of Families United Network; Bobbi Jean Bair, Director of PHUN; and Joseph Kloss, Grant Specialist for PHUN. Several youth participants shared personal stories, emphasizing the need for such a program in their lives. Remarks were also given by Tara Fox, Administrator for Luzerne/Wyoming Counties Mental Health and Developmental Services, and PA State Representative Brenda Pugh.
The establishment of PHUN was made possible through the generous support of key community partners, including the Luzerne-Wyoming Counties Mental Health and Developmental Services, The Moses Taylor Foundation, AllOne Foundation & Charities, and Families United Network. Their collaborative effort aims to strengthen the region’s behavioral health support system for families and individuals.
