Kinship caregivers are the relatives and close family friends who step in to raise, nurture, and protect a child when the child’s parents are unable to. The Kinship Month 2026 Statewide Summit honored and supported those in kinship care. It brought together state leaders, kinship caregivers, and legal experts to share personal stories, practical advice, and guidance on permanency.

A Resource Families Can Return To
Kinship caregivers often take on the role suddenly and have to find answers quickly. The recording lets families and professionals watch at their own pace and go back to the parts they need, and chapter markers make each segment easy to find.
